SEND-10 Sending, approvals & deliverability

The pause breaker

Last verified

The pause breaker is the account-level stop switch for email activity: it holds sends until you explicitly resume. Pause all stops every send across your workspace immediately — not the current campaign, everything.

How to pull it

It lives in the Vitals view — open Vitals from the button at the bottom of the Chats sidebar. At the bottom of that view you will find Pause breaker, showing Ready or Paused.

  1. Select Pause all.
  2. A reason field appears, pre-filled with operator pause breaker. Replace it with what is actually going on — this is recorded.
  3. Select Confirm.

While paused, a red banner sits across the top of the app: “All sending is paused”, with your reason. It stays there until you resume — you cannot lose track of the fact that your sending is off.

To resume, select Resume in the same control and confirm.

You can also pause and resume by asking the assistant. It will not pause on its own initiative — pausing is an operator action, and Deloosh does not make it for you.

What it actually does

Pausing puts your whole workspace into the email-suspended state that the pre-send safety battery checks first. Every send attempt is then denied, whatever it is and wherever it came from — a chat request, a scheduled dispatch, a retry in flight. There is no path around it, which is the entire point of a breaker.

The reason you type becomes the reason recorded on those denials, so a teammate — or you, next week — can see why sending stopped. See SEND-9, “Your account is email-suspended”.

It is a breaker, not a scheduler

There is no timer, no auto-resume, and no “pause until Monday”. It stops sending, and it keeps sending stopped until a human turns it back on. A breaker that quietly reset itself would be no protection at all during the incident you pulled it for.

When to pull it

  • You realize a send is going to the wrong audience.
  • Something in your data looks wrong and you want to stop before you find out how wrong.
  • Your sending-health light has gone red and you want everything to stop while you work out why.
  • Anything outside Deloosh — a breach, a bad merge in your product, a PR problem — makes any email from your brand a bad idea right now.

Deloosh may recommend pausing during a deliverability incident, and the assistant will move into incident mode to talk you through it. The decision stays yours.

Pausing does not delete drafts, plans, or approvals. It stops sends. When you resume, you pick up where you were — with the audience and suppressions re-checked at that moment, not frozen from before the pause.
