Snoozing a signal

Last verified

Snoozing puts a Signal to sleep until a time you choose, then brings it back. Use it when the Signal is fair but the timing is wrong — nothing about the underlying condition is changed, accepted, or resolved.

Choosing when it returns

Select Snooze and pick one of three presets — 1d, 3d, or 1w — or set an exact date and time in the custom field and select Snooze.

A preset takes effect immediately on selection. The custom Snooze button stays disabled until you enter a valid date and time.

What a snoozed card looks like

While a Signal is snoozed, its card remains visible in the Stream — snoozing hides nothing from your audit trail — but its five action buttons (Approve & draft, Modify, Explain more, Snooze, Don’t remind again) are disabled. Only an open Signal is actionable.

The disabled buttons are the whole of the visible change. The card does not display a “snoozed” badge or a return date, so a card with greyed-out buttons and no explanation is a card you have already snoozed (or dismissed, or acted on). If you need to know which, the Stream is the record — the snooze itself is an event in the timeline.

When the snooze time passes, the Signal returns to open on its own and every action becomes available again. You do not need to restore it by hand.

Snooze is not dismissal

Snoozing defers a decision; dismissing declines it. If the Signal is wrong, or you have accepted the risk it describes, dismiss it with a reason instead — see SIG-5, Dismissing a signal (and why we ask why).

Attention cards are a different class: they resolve only through the approval flow and cannot be snoozed away. See SIG-8, “Awaiting your decision” cards and approvals.

Snoozing a Signal does not pause sending. To stop email account-wide, use the pause breaker — see SEND-10, The pause breaker.
